A social problem in Taiwan Helen Chen

Taiwan is a small island, but we have much more than two thousand and three
hundreds million people here. So we have a big problem about pollution, such
as air pollution water pollution and others, especially air pollution, the most serious
environmental problem.

There are several reasons for this problem in addition to having so many people.
First, we have more and more vehicles day by day although we have convenient
transportation, such as the Mass Rapid Transit and the bus system. The air is
worse and worse than before because of the waste gas from these vehicles, and
that leads to air population. Second, we have more factories than ten years ago,
and their stack gas was voided to the air directly that is a drain on our environment.
Third, there are less and less trees in Taiwan because of deforestation that will
make less and less fresh air made from trees. If all above continues, maybe one
day human beings will not have fresh air, and that will make more serious problem
that we never image.

I think taking the public transportation, bus and MRT, will make the air and the other
environmental problems vanish day by day. That is one thing we can do immediately.
